About the Grapevine

The Grapevine Wellbeing Centre is a registered charity and is open to all individuals who require support and help with their wellbeing and mental health considerations.  It is a resource centre hosting and providing access to a wide range of helpful services, activities and support. We have a team of volunteers who are always happy to listen in a non-judgemental person-centred way and help out where they can.  They can also refer you in the right direction and guide you to the most suitable alternative services.

The Grapevine Wellbeing Centre is located at 15, Scarsdale Place, Buxton and is OPEN Every Weekday and Saturday between 12.30pm - 3.30pm.
Drop in for a drink and to catch up with Grapevine news, charitable events and High Peak Self Help Groups.

Funding for the Grapevine Wellbeing Project

The Grapevine Wellbeing Project has submitted the Mid-point Monitoring Report and hope to receive the third payment from The People's Health Trust. We believe that we are on the way to achieving the project outcomes and we are within the project budget.

We thank all the people who have been involved in the project and a special thanks to the members of the steering committee who have made such a difference to the Wellbeing Project. We will be undertaking further surveys of our members to develop more self-help groups and  to recruit volunteer facilitators.

Grapevine Wellbeing Centre present at Rotary Club event

The Grapevine Wellbeing Centre took part in the Rotary Club Bazaar on Saturday 3rd June 2017. We thank Christine Russell and Ellis Hayward for manning the Grapevine table. We also must thank Jean and Janet who donated some bedding plants from the allotment and the Arts and Crafts group who provided a lot of  seed bombs for sale. The Cosmos plants went like hot cakes and at the end of the day the event raised £38 which was donated to the Grapevine Wellbeing Centre

Cemex day at the Allotment

Cemex, which is a local large quarrying company were present on the Allotment on Wednesday 31st May 2017 to undertake much needed improvements to the fabric of the allotment. The jobs undertaken were to replace and paint some of the raised beds, level and dig trenches around the new small polytunnel area, replace the wooden back gate with a new metal one, trim some of the overhanging foliage and build some very useful bird boxes. There was so much work still to do at the end of the day and some of the Cemex men returned the following day to construct a door for the new small polytunnel. and re-felt the compost toilet and put some gutters in place to collect water in the newly raised water butts.

We thank Cemex and their staff for their efforts and thankfully the weather was good on both days.

Summer Opening at the Allotment

Come and join our project workers Jean and Janet at the allotment which is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm, weather permitting.  The allotment is currently used by Bright Opportunities and Moore Care as well as members from the Grapevine Wellbeing Centre. Aspire and the Volunteer Centre have constructed a wheelchair friendly path which leads to two raise beds they  plan to be at the allotment on Tuesday and Friday.

The allotment is open to all the community and we would make you welcome

Grapevine Community Allotment
A Memorial Seat in Tribute to Pete Allsop

The Community Allotment has been graced with a bench as a lasting memory to Pete Allsop. We have decided to put a plaque on the bench to say

"He created this beautiful garden from a wilderness".

We have asked Pete's wife Jean if she will attend the dedication of the bench in Pete's memory.
